Neovise is researching the adoption of cloud computing by traditional hosting providers as wells as service providers that have already made the leap to offering cloud services (particularly infrastructure services or IaaS).
Research Questions
The research addresses questions like these:
- What type of hosting providers are adding or planning to add cloud services?
- How much revenue are these hosting providers generating? How will cloud services impact that?
- Do adoption patterns vary by size of the hosting provider?
- Are hosting providers implementing cloud services themselves? Buying commercial cloud platform software? Using open source?
- What are the drivers for offering cloud services?
All these questions and others will all be addressed by this research. We expect the results to be quite interesting.
Who wants to know?
Many of you should also find the results valuable as well as interesting:
- Hosting providers want to know what other hosting providers are doing and planning. They also want to know how cloud service providers approached the building and delivery of their cloud services.
- Cloud service providers want to know how other cloud service providers built and now deliver their offerings, as well as how they are performing in this space.
- Vendors with all kinds of cloud-enabling technologies (software platforms / cloud controllers, management tools, application migration products, quality and performance measurement, and more) want to understand their opportunities for selling to hosting providers and cloud service providers
This research is not targeted at private clouds for enterprise or government IT organizations. It is really about public service providers. Of course we’re always interested in learning about your research needs, so please let us know if you ever have suggestions for future research projects.
Taking the Survey:
Are you a hosting provider that has not yet added cloud computing (IaaS) to your list of service offerings? If so, you are a perfect candidate for completing the research survey. If you take the survey you’ll get a free summary of the survey results. Please contact us at [ info at neovise dot com] so that you can take the survey!
Are you a service provider that is already providing cloud services? You are also a good candidate for completing the research survey. If you take the survey, you’ll get a free summary of the survey results. Please contact us via email at so that you can take the survey!
Results
We’ll announce the completion of the research on this blog, so stay tuned. A complete report with full details of the results will be available for purchase. Some of the results will also be available for free and publicly available via sponsored white papers, webinars, podcasts and other Neovise reports.
