Counter-Strike is the game, where donations are made in an extremely satisfying way for all the users. You don’t have to pay to win. All the items you can have in-game are just cosmetics, which can only give you some joy looking at them. Cybersports also attract more and more people. But combining skins and eSports leads to the creation of a CSGO eSports collection. These three cases contain SSG Dark Water, Nova Ghost Camo, and even M4A4 Faded Zebra.
Of course, there are not only these cheap blue skins but also really interesting items, which are getting more and more expensive every year. Even more, cases are getting more expensive either, so that will be a nice way to invest.
What are eSports cases?
To start with, we may see that there are three cases in this eSports collection: eSports 2013 Case, eSports 2013 Winter Case, and eSports 2014 Summer Case. These cases were created as some specific analog of Dota 2 Compendium. People had an opportunity to open cases and a part of the money would come to the prize pool of upcoming CS:GO tournaments.
However, seeing that there are only three cases, and the last one was released only in 2014, we may conclude that idea wasn’t successful. But the eSports 2013-2014 cases are still obtainable, so all the players have an opportunity to open them.
How much for eSports cases?
The price of the cases is really astonishing. The eSports 2014 Summer Case costs only 3 dollars. Someone may say that this price is way too high for the case, but this one was released more than 7 years ago, and 3 dollars is an extremely low price. The eSports 2013 Winter is not way more expensive. It costs only 3.5 dollars, which is also a low price. But the last one, eSports 2013 costs 29 dollars, which allows it to conquer CS:GO weapon cases and Operation Bravo cases.
The keys for these cases cost only 2.5 dollars each, so that, you will not spend much money on opening one. One more advantage of the eSports Case key is that it is universal. You can use one key for Summer Case, Winter Case, and Common 2013 Case.
What do these cases contain?
The content of the cases is not that bright. Of course, you can experience getting M4A4| Faded Zebra, SSG-08| Dark Water, or Five-seveN| Night Shade, but they will not satisfy you at all.
Even more, none of the presented blue items would be fine for people, because the skins were created in the year when Mil-Spec quality was literally the worst. Sometimes, even default items were more attractive for users.
But the higher rarity items are really interesting even nowadays.
The eSports 2013 Case offers P90| Death by Kitty (fascinating skin with the dynamic pattern) and AWP| BOOM!. These skins are great-looking and expensive items, but they are not the main targets. The main target is AK-47| Red Laminate because its StatTrak Factory New version costs 2100$. P250| Splash will also be a great deal, but you need at least Factory New one to pay off.
The eSports 2013 Winter Case is not that interesting. It contains Desert Eagle| Cobalt Disruption, which costs about 50 dollars, and AWP| Electric Hive, the price of which also varies between 40 and 50 dollars. The Covert M4A4| X-Ray is one of the cheapest Covert skins and costs only 10 dollars.
The eSports 2014 Summer is the cheapest one but provides interesting skins. AK-47| Jaguar and M4A4| Bullet Rain. Average non-StatTrak Field-Tested versions of these would cost about 25-30 dollars, which is a great deal for such a case. There are also interesting Classified skins, which include AUG| Bengal Tiger and AWP| Corticera. The average price on these is about 15 dollars. But the main target is Desert Eagle| Crimson Web. StatTrak Factory New one costs more than 500 dollars. And it’s only a Restricted rarity, so the odds of getting one are high enough.
Moreover, these cases contain a good set of knives in them. They include Bayonets, Karambits, M9 Bayonets, Flip Knives, and Gut Knives. The patterns are also classical: from cheap Scorched and Safari Mesh to more expensive Case Hardened, Slaughter, and Crimson Web.
Why there is a price difference?
To start with, the time. While the regular eSports 2013 case was one of the oldest ones. Due to the fact it was the second case in the entire game, its price increased significantly. In 2014-2015 the average price on this one was about 1 dollar. And now it is almost 30. Moreover, it contains expensive skins, which have dynamic patterns and can not only pay off the case but grant you 70x profit of opening it.
The Winter Case has cannot provide interesting items in it. It has Electric Hive and Cobalt Disruption, but their max price might be 100$, and many people would like to open the cases with more profit potential.
However, it is still impossible to understand why eSports 2014 Summer Case is that cheap. It is the cheapest case in this collection, and it costs only 3 dollars. It has many profitable and good-looking skins, which could be in use even now. And there are only 5000 Summer Cases on the Steam Market.
While the 2013 Winter Case is just not that interesting, the eSports 2014 Summer Case is underestimated by the community.
What case to choose to invest in?
When you decide to invest in eSports cases, you have to choose between 2 of them: eSports 2013 Winter Case and eSports 2014 Summer Case. And the answer is obvious.
Buying eSports 2014 Summer Case would be the best option to get profit. They cost only 3 dollars for a case, and this price is unfairly low. Buying 10 of these cases to keep them would be a great option for many players. Including the fact that there are fewer of these cases every day, your investment will give you income soon.
The decision to buy Winter Case might be a mistake. It doesn’t contain anything interesting for the community, and it wouldn’t increase its value. Not that many people buy these cases to open them, so their value would probably stay on the same level for a longer time.
Investment in regular eSports 2013 Case is just useless. The price of the container is way too high to buy more than 1. The best way is to hope that you are lucky enough to get one after a competitive game. But buying them is too expensive and extremely risky.
